    The Royal College of Art is one of the world’s best known postgraduate art and design universities, and our students’ work is shown throughout the year in the extensive College galleries. These galleries are also available to hire for external exhibitions and events, and represent a vital contribution to the College’s Student Fund, which exists to support future generations of artists and designers. Designed in the early 1960s by modernist master HT Cadbury-Brown (1913-2009), the Grade-II listed building has been praised as, ‘an extraordinary building contextually that respects the Victorian buildings around it’. The Royal College of Art is situated in Kensington, west London, next to the imposing Royal Albert Hall and opposite Kensington Gardens. This prime location makes the College easily accessible by both bus and underground. The galleries consist of eight exhibition spaces: the Entrance Gallery, the Upper Gulbenkian Gallery, the Lower Gulbenkian Gallery, the Henry Moore Gallery, the Link Gallery and the three Courtyard Galleries. The College also has a fully equipped lecture theatre. In addition, the exclusive Senior Common Room, which houses part of the College’s famous collection of art, provides an ideal venue for private receptions and dinners. The galleries comprise a total of 1,532 square metres of white space, and form one of the finest venues for hire in London. These spaces are available together or individually, and are a ‘blank canvas’ that can easily be reconfigured to suit any event.

    The Columbia Hotel has four spacious suites for Business Meetings, Conferences, Seminars and Receptions. The Windsor Suite is the largest, with a separate reception area. The Windor Suite will seat 200 Theatre Style, 80 Classroom Style, and accommodate up to 300 for buffet Receptions. The Viceroy & Regency Suites are identical, and can be used independently, or joined together as one unit. Each will seat 70 Theatre Style. All three suites are on the first floor with wide balconies overlooking Kensington Gardens. The Lancaster Suite on the hotel ground floor has a large mahogany table to seat up to 28 persons, and a comfortable lounge area, making it ideal for Boardroom style meetings. Electric Brixton boasts a capacity of 1,500 for live shows and 1,700 for receptions or club events - and can also accommodate dinners (180 pax), presentations (250 / 300 pax) & showcases (100 - 1,000). Adjacent to the main hall, the BABY ROOM (with a capacity of 150) - has its own separate sound system & bar and can operate either as an extension of the main space, as a secondary event space or even as a VIP area. The long-standing live music heritage of the venue means it is particularly well set-up in terms of loading access. There's a vast backstage area and access to three dressing rooms, a production office and a technical manager help to make the planning of live shows and events as smooth as possible. A full front of house team (security, box office, cloakroom, bar staff, floor staff, sound & light technicians and duty managers) is part of the hire package. Other notable facilities of the venue are a dedicated catering back-of house room and the off-street smoking terrace.

Our "Party Rooms" are large, contemporary spaces designed by Gage Interiors in 2005. They are ideally suited to events of up to 500 people (for an exclusive hire). There is also a wonderful private garden which links to the Party Rooms which can hold up to 50 guests. General Manager Shelly Curtis managed all events at The Groucho Club in Soho prior to joining us last year. You will find a friendly but efficient team. Our a la carte and event food consists of eclectic European dishes influenced by Italian and modern British classics. You will also discover our prices to be highly reasonable. We have an excellent team of chefs who are passionately devoted to creating real dishes that taste quite simply delicious. Our food is presented refectory style, with shared starters of fresh charcuterie, cheeses, pickled vegetables and breads served on rustic wooden boards.

    Fitzroy House is an original 1791 building imitating the designs of Robert Adam, the famous Georgian period architect who along with his brother designed Fitzroy Square. The house is one of the last remaining structures on the block that retains its original external architecture and now shows the life and work of L. Ron Hubbard. The house comprises four impressive floors, one of which is dedicated to an exhibition of Ron Hubbard's early life from boy scout to explorer. It also illustrates his career as one of the top fiction writers in the 1930s and 40s and his later achievements in the humanities. As he holds the Guinness Book of World Records title for Most Published Author (1,084 publications) one of the floors is appropriately dedicated to his literary works. We welcome visitors from around the world to step into this 1950s time capsule where they can view original manuscripts, rare edition books and artifacts relating to the life of one of the most prominent authors of the 20th century.
